At Graphics Design Media, we aim to be an eco-friendly company. In a day and age when the environment needs to be cared for more than ever, it’s important for companies to switch to more sustainable processes. Being environmentally conscious is a core value here at GDM.
Many printing companies use petroleum-based ink — the traditional method — but this approach is damaging to the earth and produces less vibrant colors due to its high content of darker chemicals. GDM refuses to print using petroleum-based ink. Instead, we use soy-oil based inks, which are safer, more environmentally friendly, and require less energy to produce. Soy ink is also easier to remove from paper, which is a major advantage for recycling.
Our coatings contain little to no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) — harmful components that damage the atmosphere. We use fountain solutions that are free of, or reduced in, VOCs, and we do our best to recycle all solutions and properly remove hazardous waste. We also use alcohol substitutes wherever possible.
Of course, an essential ingredient in the print industry is paper. Graphics Design Media uses paper produced specifically for paper-making, not sourced from illegal deforestation, and we recycle as much paper as possible throughout our operations.
Our environment needs us more every day, and we’re on a mission to use the least polluting materials and practices in printing. Contact us today at (725) 910-5803 for a free quote on your next printing job, and go green with us.
