This is the single biggest factor in choosing a finish. If a sticker is going outside — on a car, a storefront window, a cooler, a sign — it needs a laminate layer to survive UV rays and rain. Our standard gloss and matte finishes are both fully laminated and rated for 3–5 years outdoors. Holographic is laminated too, but the specialty material behind the shimmer effect fades faster in direct sun, so treat it as a few-months-outdoors finish rather than a multi-year one. Unlaminated has no protective layer at all, so it's an indoor-only material — it will fade, curl, or peel if left outside for more than a short one-time use.

Not much. Indoors, there's no UV or rain to protect against, so the biggest reason to pay for lamination goes away. The main indoor benefit of lamination is scratch and light-moisture resistance — worth it for something that gets handled constantly (a water bottle, a laptop that travels), less important for packaging, labels, or one-time promo that just sits in place.

All four finishes use the same die-cut process and the same base vinyl print — the difference is entirely in the top layer. Standard gloss and matte add a laminate (glossy vs. non-reflective). Holographic swaps in a specialty holographic laminate that shifts color with the light. Unlaminated skips the top layer entirely. Print quality and color accuracy are identical across all four; only the surface and durability change.
